Partnership for Education of Health Professionals (PEP)

Since 2022, the Centre for Online and Blended Learning (COBL) and the Global Health Section at the Department of Public Health have been part of the large-scale international research and capacity strengthening project Partnership for Education of Health Professionals (PEP). PEP is funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

As part of the most recent grant (2025–2029), the project "Strengthening Health Professions Education Institutions in India and Kenya" focuses on strengthening capacity in health professions education to address pressing challenges, including the rising burden of cardiometabolic diseases, health workforce shortages, and the needs of underserved populations.

COBL aims to strengthen partner institutions' capacity to use digital technologies to improve the quality and reach of health professions education. This includes faculty and educational development, course co-design, educational technology expertise, and strategies to expand institutional impact. The Global Health Section aims to strengthen partner capacity in education and health workforce research, while also conducting research on the partnership itself and on key trends and challenges affecting the health workforce in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
