Safe learning environment, didactic contract and varied teaching

Active learning

Learning is so much more than sticking to curriculum and learning happens both inside and outside the classroom.

This hands-on workshop focuses on the students' well-being and learning.

We touch upon basic psychological dynamics in the teaching situation as well as the social and cognitive dimensions of learning.

We work with concrete examples for aligning expectations and didactical contracts.

We explore how to transform your teaching practice into more varied formats that support motivation and engagement.

The session combines didactic principles and exemplary use of learning technology and demonstrates how to set the framework for activating and varied teaching for the benefit of your students' learning – and your own motivation as a teacher.

The workshop is led by Nicole Schmitt, professor MSO and Vice Head of Department for Education at the Dept. of Biomedical Sciences/UCPH. She was UCPH’s Teacher of the Year in 2020 and was awarded with the Danish National Teaching Award 2021.
